Professor Luis Silva Morais discusses the Solvency 2 Model for Insurance Supervision – now in force as from January 2016 - with the President of the Portuguese Authority of Insurance and Pension Funds (ASF), Professor José Almaça, at the Opening of the Second AIDA Congress (International Association of Insurance Law), in Lisbon on the 6th December. In a pivotal year of transition for a new era of insurance supervision in Portugal and the EU a first critical assessment of the new model is to be attempted and its incoming prospects of evolution will also be discussed.
