The Firm is largely oriented towards high level legal advice and representation in an area defined as INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LAW. It starts from its regulatory component, largely relying on competition law and economic regulation, spilling over to other non-strictly regulatory components. It is also very much focused on the decisive transnational dimension of business transactions, in particular the one associated with the European integration process, based on EU law.

Both the Founding Partner and members of the Firm have extensive experience in dealing with complex arbitration cases, in various capacities, either representing parties in arbitration cases, including the Portuguese State, acting as special advisers of arbitral courts, e.g. in cases involving the enforcement of foreign investment contracts, or as members of Arbitral Courts (integrating the panels of arbitrators established for certain areas). Furthermore, an innovative and ground-breaking perspective has been developed in this domain as regards arbitral cases in Portugal, paving the way to a growing awareness of the application of competition law rules in the context of arbitration cases or even to the use of arbitral procedures to sort our regulatory issues.
