Nelson Osman Jeque
Nelson Osman Jeque is a member of the Bar of Mozambique (admitted 2004). He got his degree in law from the Faculty of Law of University Eduardo Mondlane (UEM) in Mozambique, Maputo (2004) and a Master in Law (economic law) (degree jointly awarded by UEM and the Faculty of Law of Lisbon University, Portugal – FDL, within a program of scientific cooperation, 2008). He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of UEM and at the High Institute of Science and Technology of Mozambique (ISCTEM).
Beside his practice as attorney-at-law (Partner and Member of the Board of Legalline with offices in Mozambique and Angola) he has acted as Consultant of the World Bank and of the Bank of Mozambique (2007), as Legal Advisor of Procredit Bank (2004), and he is also an Arbitrator and Advisor of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Mozambique. He is the author of various research papers in the area of economic and corporate law and he has been a member of various Working Groups that prepared legislative proposals in Mozambique.
His main areas of expertise comprehend banking law, economic and financial law, employment law, corporate law and he has dealt extensively with project finance.
Languages: Portuguese, English and French.
Without prejudice of his capacity as Partner and Board Member of Legalline as practising attorney-at-law, he is an Individual Consultant of Luís Silva Morais/Sérgio Gonçalves do Cabo, Law Firm, on a non-exclusive basis, for any matters pertaining to the jurisdiction of Mozambique since November, 1, 2015.
