Cristina Homem Ferreira Morais, born in 1966, Lisbon, Portugal, got her law degree from Lisbon Law University (FDL) in 1989 and a Post-Graduation in EU Law and EU Integration from Catholic University of Lisbon in 1992. Post-Graduated in Employment Law from FDL in 2001.

Attorney-at-law, admitted to the Portuguese bar since 1992. She has practiced in various Law Firms and has specialized mainly in the areas of employment law and corporate law.

She joined Luis Silva Morais/Sergio Gonçalves do Cabo, Law Firm, as a Partner since the foundation of the Firm in September 2013.

Between 1990 and 1996 she acted as legal consultant and in-house lawyer within the Multinational Group ABB (Asea Brown Boveri) in Portugal. She also held responsibilities in the management of the Human Resources Department at the ABB company in Portugal between 1991 and 1996, involving, inter alia, the preparation of training programs supported by EU structural funds and, thus, acquiring extensive experience and track-record in the area of employment law and management of human resources, also as regards tax and social security issues in this field. 

Her private practice includes comprehensive management of restructuring processes of multiple corporate groups, involving both proceedings of collective dismissal of employees and negotiation with employees and unions oriented towards voluntary agreements to cease employment contracts. 

Furthermore, she has an extensive judicial practice in various fields, comprehending namely a significant exposure to winding up procedures of corporations.

Member of the Board of ‘Circulo de Autor’ – a Portuguese association  member of the ALAI (‘Association Litéraire et Artistique Internationale’) worldwide network and dedicated to research and study of copyright issues, having namely been involved in the organization of the International Conference held in Lisbon in 2012, reuniting key international experts in this domain.
